As finalist for the WV History Bowl competition, one of the few perks for the participants and their families is a couple of tours. Part of the capitol is under renovation but we still had a great time. The first part of the competition is learning about our state more by doing the tours.
This is minute compared to the ones we experienced in Washington DC but still a wonderful opportunity to be able to see it. My husband said that he appreciated our state more by doing this activity.
Our family got the chance to bond with the other family as well. We made great memories.
It's beautiful down there in Charleston. It was our first time to visit the state capital. Even my husband who was born and raised in WV, he have never been to Charleston so it was exciting.
There were so many squirrels running around on the ground and under those big trees.Touring the capitol is such a great learning experience. I will share more details about it as soon as I get the chance to download all the pictures.
I wish I am more motivated to write these days. There were so many events that we went through already in the last three months. In fact, the week that we went to our state capital, we head out to the nation's capital (DC), one day after we returned home. Our whole week was jammed with traveling and lots of new experience.
I hear you on the having more time to write. I have family that lives in Capon Bridge, but I have never been able to really explore West Virginia. It's a beautiful state and I think we're going to add it to our summer travels after reading this post.
