Nine years ago at 10:09 a.m., our second bundle of joy have arrived. It was a joyous moment for us. Despite what the specialist have told us during my pregnancy, he was born healthy! Hubby and I made the right decision for saying NO to the amniocentesis that they suggested for me to have. There's no way I would risk to have a miscarriage just so they can poke me with a giant needle and study my baby, NO WAY!)
( Amniocentesis (also referred to as amniotic fluid test or AFT) is a medical procedure[1] used in prenatal diagnosis of chromosomal abnormalities and fetal infections,[2] and also used for sex determination in which a small amount of amniotic fluid, which contains fetal tissues, is sampled from the amniotic sac surrounding a developing fetus, and the fetal DNA is examined for genetic abnormalities. The most common reason to have an "amnio" is to determine whether a baby has certain genetic disorders or a chromosomal abnormality, such as Down syndrome. Amniocentesis (or another procedure, called chorionic villus sampling (CVS)) can diagnose these problems in the womb. Amniocentesis is usually done when a woman is between 14 and 16 weeks pregnant. Women who choose to have this test are primarily those at increased risk for genetic and chromosomal problems, in part because the test is invasive and carries a small risk of miscarriage.) source
God made you beautiful and perfectly healthy.
You were born to give us joy, to make us laugh,
And to complete our little family.
We love you dearly!!
Always remember in your heart how blessed we are to have you as our son.
Always feel in your heart the love we have for you.
And always remember that God loves you!
Happy 9th birthday EJ!
I'm happy to hear that your son is healthy and happy for his 9th birthday. However, I have to respectfully disagree with your comment about amnio. It is a test that saves MANY babies and lives.
ReplyDeleteI am not saying that it doesn't save lives but there is that risk also and we weren't going to take that risk. We will accept whatever God gave us, with or without abnormalities. JUst thankful it worked out well for us without the amnio.
DeleteHappy 9th birthday to your little boy! I'm glad you didn't go through that kind of procedure.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful tribute to your son. So touching. It is hard to capture the love you have for your children but you did a great job.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see he is healthy! Many people are not blessed in this way, but still blessed to become mothers whether it is to a child with special needs or to an angel baby. Glad everything worked out for your family.
ReplyDeleteAw! Happy Birthday to your little man! I know amnio can be controversal, but either way. Im glad you had a happy healthy baby :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your son EJ. He is a handsome little boy! Every child is a blessing and God chooses the best parents for the angels he sends to earth. EJ is lucky to have you!
ReplyDeleteHe is a mighty handsome young man. I didn't have to have this test when I was expecting my three bundles of joy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday! I hope he enjoyed his day!
ReplyDeleteHe is a handsome young man. My oldest is 8 and I was 19 when I got pregnant with him and they asked if I wanted that test. I didn't know much about it so I did my research and they also said it does increase your risk if miscarriage. I said no thanks. I honestly didn't feel it was necessary and regardless of results I would still have my baby. I have three healthy little boys. You'd think there would be a better way to conduct this test by now.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly our point too that regardless how my our baby would come that we would accept him no matter what.
DeleteWhat a handsome little guy. I'm glad he is healthy. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to him, he's handsome and look nice.
ReplyDeletehappy bday to him! hope he had a blast and so much fun!
ReplyDeleteYour son reminds me of mine! I LOVE what you wrote here. My son is a year younger than yours and I don't know what I would do without him in my life. Happy birthday to your son! What a handsome little man!
ReplyDeleteHe is so handsome. Happy Birthday EJ! I hope he had a blast.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated 9th birthday EJ and glad you refused the test and glad he was born healthy.
ReplyDeleteEJ is a handsome fellow, and he looks so classy in the tux vest and bow tie. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteThey grow up too fast, don't they? Hard to believe he is 9! Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI said "no" too when I had my last baby at age 35. He also is perfect, age 30 now and given hope to millions through his music.
