Broken Leg

Our  toy fox terrier, Max,   got a broken leg injury.  Max lives to his name... maximum expenses.  It cost us $689.54 to  fix his leg.  Due to their tiny bones, the doctor has to insert a pin inside his bone so it could grow normal again.  To do that, the Vet had to  perform a surgery.

I feel bad for this little fella because he was in agony for days after the accident.  He is recovering now but I am not sure if the surgery will really fixed his broken leg but I am hoping so.
The vet said that the bones of  toy fox terrier are like  toothpicks so they are very easy to break.
While waiting for the Vet, the kids were fascinated by the different kinds of cat poster inside the waiting room.

  9. I have had pets in the past, but no more. Too much grief when they die and too expense to care far.

  10. Our little dog also broke her leg. We tried surgery with a pin to fix it, but it didn't work. We made the decision to amputate the leg. That sounds drastic, and it was, but she is doing great now two years later. Dogs don't do as bad as people when losing a leg, because they have three more. I am hoping the best for your precious doggy and I just wanted to offer our experience. <3

  19. I'm with LV, so much grief and expense. We've had four and are down to our last (a chihuaha mix). But they also bring us a lot of joy so it's hard to resist, especially with a cutie like Max. He is adorable!!! Warms my heart and I hope his leg heals nicely.
Thank you so much for stopping by and inviting me to link my hope tags.
    HPS!

  29. Oh, Rylie, I just read on Rinkly Rhymes (Brenda's blog) about the vet having to re-break Max's leg because it didn't heal properly the first time. What a brave little dog Max is, and you and your brother are very brave, too.
Please tell Max that Kay sends lots of love and hugs, and Lindy sends a sympathetic "woof"!

  32. Such a pity that so much dog politics can get in the way of 'pure' dog appreciation! All this info sounds a little familiar to some of what I have read about Schipperkes and the national shows that occur here. Both my dogs are tail-less, (not born that way!) because of the 'standard', I asked if my first dog, just a couple of weeks old then, if they would leave her tail insitu, but apparently they took it on day 3 of her life. Such a shame! Now of course this is illegal and Schipperkes are allowed to keep their tails, and such cute little tails they are! The Border Collie is such a gracious and stunning looking animal. Great post!!! Looking for large dog breeds for families Wondering what large dog breeds are good with kids or would be good for apartments Find out here A complete list of large dog breeds
